Ms. Fezeka Mavuso has 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. She started as an Executive Chef at a Lodge. Then a few years later joined the CUT Hotel School as a Food and Beverage controller and worked her way up to become a lecturer. In 2017 she received an award- Vice Chancellor’s Excellence Award for Academic Staff for the Category of Early Career Teaching Award for the Faculty of Management Sciences at the Central University of Technology Free State . She is a co-author of the book Hospitality Management: A practical introduction.
Her academic field of expertise includes education, teaching and learning; Food and Beverage Management, Work Intergrated Learning and Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Working in academia has broaden her mind especially with her getting the opportunity of being the chairperson of the Education and Teaching committee, member of the Institutional Quality Enhancement committee and member of SOLT at CUT.
Ms. Fezeka Mavuso ‘s years of experience in the academic environment propelled her to open her own hospitality academy. This Academy will offer hospitality management courses suitable for individuals, SMME’s and companies that would like to up-skill their teams .
